The project included a review of the LCI data currently available in the ecoinvent database for some of the target chemicals, and whenever necessary to develop alternative LCI datasets for these and for currently missing chemicals, mainly inorganic compounds containing base and precious metals. Datasets linking to the ecoinvent database were developed using a consequential modelling approach, based on a market analysis to identify marginal suppliers and based on the identification of determining products and dependent co-products in each unit process (mining, industrial processing).
