Training
With over thirty years of experience in life cycle assessment, Bo Weidema has been a driving force in developing the field. Though he has stepped back from day-to-day leadership at 2-0, he continues to play a key role as Senior Consultant and Chairman of the Board. Bo has been dedicated to improving and developing the field of life cycle assessment with his work as executive manager and chief scientist of the Ecoinvent database from 2008-2014 and by contributing to better ISO standards and the UNEP/SETAC Life Cycle Initiative. Besides his continuing work for 2-0, Bo is a professor at Aalborg University’s Department of Sustainability and Planning and president of the International Life Cycle Academy in Barcelona.
Jørgen manages the day-to-day operations of 2-0 LCA as CEO. He is responsible for the strategic development of the company and its financial performance. Before joining 2-0, Jørgen held leading positions in international companies in the IT and telecommunications, healthcare, aerospace & defence, and automotive sectors.
Jørgen began his leadership journey as a sergeant in the Royal Life Guards, and has since earned a BSc in international business and finance, as well as an MBA in strategic management.
As CTO of 2-0 LCA, Jannick is responsible for the development of the LCA models and methods that make underpin all our work. He is widely recognised as one of the world’s leading experts on life cycle assessments of agricultural products, indirect land use change, and biodiversity assessments — particularly the environmental impact of vegetable oils. Besides his work for 2-0 LCA, Jannick holds a professorship at the Department of Sustainability and Planning at Aalborg University.

As Chief Operating Officer, Iris leads our organisational development and oversees day-to-day operations. Before joining 2-0, she worked in the biotechnology sector. As an LCA consultant, Iris has devoted her expertise primarily to the domains of sustainable agriculture and food production. She is dedicated to teaching LCA and is responsible for our educational efforts. Iris holds an M.Sc. in Biology – Biotechnology from the University of Copenhagen.

Ivan is our branch manager of our Barcelona office. He started working in life cycle assessment in 1998 and got his Ph.D. in environmental science in 2006 from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Ivan's areas of expertise include LCAs for ecodesign, solid waste management, water and wastewater treatment, agriculture and food production, including related tools like environmental risk assessment, life cycle costing and water footprinting. From 2009 to 2013 he worked in the UK for Unilever.

Stefano is one of our most senior LCA specialists, responsible for database development. He is our expert in the construction and use of input-output tables and the lead developer of the EXIOBASE hybrid database, that serves as our main source of background data for assessments. Stefano holds a PhD in Economic Statistics from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” and works part-time as a researcher at the Centre for Environmental Sciences (CML) at Leiden University.
Miguel is responsible for the design and maintenance of our Python-based LCA models and their integration into various software solutions. He has a background as an industrial engineer, with a Master’s in Waste and Resource Management. He holds a PhD from the University of Sherbrooke, Canada, and has previously worked as a research assistant at Oxford University.

Annika is a specialist in LCA of agricultural and dairy products and project lead. She has previously worked at Aalborg University as a research assistant in 2020, and also has experience from the healthcare and recreational sectors. She holds a BSc in Biology from St. Francis Xavier University (Canada), and MSc in Environmental Management and Sustainability Science from Aalborg University (2019). (Currently on leave)
Jonas is a project lead with a wide interest in many aspects of LCA. His interests include consequential LCA methodology, Hybrid I/O LCA, fishery and aquaculture, palm oil, forestry and land use, carbon offsetting and construction. Jonas' master thesis focused on evaluating and improving the internal LCA methodology within a streamlined carbon footprint calculator tool designed to assist Danish small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Jonas holds a BSc in Techno-Anthropology and MSc in Environmental Management and Sustainability Science from Aalborg University. (2021)

Bertram develops, applies, and teaches the economic models that form the backbone of our database development projects. Besides working for 2-0 LCA he is finishing his PhD in Industrial Ecology at the Institute of Environmental Sciences of Leiden University (CML). Bertram holds a MSc degree in Artificial Intelligence with a specialization in Machine Learning and Policy Analysis from the University of Amsterdam.

Valentin is the lead developer of our next generation LCA database, BONSAI. His work involves coordinating tasks, reviewing code, and developing backend solutions. He also looks for ways to make life easier for his colleagues by automating processes and improving internal workflows with better software tools. With a background in aerospace engineering and robotics, he enjoys tackling complex data challenges and finding practical solutions.
Valentin holds a B. Sc. in aerospace engineering from the University of Stuttgart and a M.Sc. in ‘Robotics, Cognition, Intelligence’ from Technische Universität München.
Lara is an environmental engineer from Universidade Estadual de Santa Catarina (Brazil, 2016). Throughout her career, she has developed and managed environmental studies, including environmental impact reports, GHG accounting and LCA. At 2-0, she conducts LCAs and product portfolios assessments for the food, agriculture, and energy sectors, such as for organic-vegan and dairy products, palm oil and photovoltaic systems. She develops custom made LCA tools in Excel and adapts these to assess the carbon footprint of food products.

Karen Emilie is a project lead and one of our leading experts on modelling the impacts of alternative fuel production. She has worked on biofuels, P2X, and CCS solutions and developed LCA tools. A strong proponent of LCA, Karen-Emilie (K.E., as she goes by at the office) never shies away from speaking engagements to tell businesses about our services and how LCA enables better decision-making. She holds a BSc in City, Energy, and Environmental Planning and an MSc in Environmental Management and Sustainability Science from Aalborg University, completed in 2022.

Erica is an experienced project lead on diverse projects involving palm oil, biofuels, and food waste prevention. Her specialty lies in the agrifood sector, where she has focused on biodiversity impacts and land use change modelling. Besides working for 2-0, she teaches life cycle assessment as an adjunct professor at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. From there, Erica obtained her Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering in 2022.

Martí is a project lead and expert in the LCA of food and agriculture, forestry, and chemicals. He has extensive experience in advising clients and managing product-level LCA projects across a wide range of sectors. Before joining 2-0 LCA, Martí taught LCA and supervised Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD students as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institut de Ciència i Tecnologia Ambientals (ICTA-UAB), where he also earned his PhD in the LCA of circular farming practices in 2020.

Freja is an LCA specialist and project lead with a wide interest in the field of LCA. “There is always something new to learn,” she says, “like time-dependent CO₂ emissions, uncertainty analysis, or carbon uptake.” She is motivated by tailoring the LCA study to the exact wishes of the customer and finding the right solution for each project. Freja has previously worked at the engineering firm, COWI, where she specialised in EPDs of construction materials.
Freja holds a B.Sc. in Environmental Engineering and an M.Sc. in Environmental Management and Sustainability Science from Aalborg University, completed in 2022.
Mathieu is our LCA data specialist working on the development of our next generation LCA database, BONSAI. He manages data integration and harmonization and works on combining input/output data with LCA tables for a state of the art hybrid LCA database. Mathieu has previously worked as a hydrogen and solar sustainability expert at Fronius International GmbH, an Austrian-based photovoltaic inverter manufacturer. He holds a double degree of a Msc in Engineering Sciences from Ecole Centrale Marseille and a MSc in Industrial Ecology from Leiden University/TU Delft.
Simon is a versatile LCA specialist and project lead working out of our Copenhagen office. He has worked on many different kinds of products and sectors: logistics, shipping, waste, energy, IT, and agriculture. He uses both SimaPro and Brightway and is experienced in building models in both Excel and Python. He has also worked extensively with hybridisation. Simon holds a BSc in Forest and Landscape Engineering and an MSc in Climate Change from the University of Copenhagen, completed in 2023.
Maddalen is our LCA expert on plastics, textiles, and biomaterials. She has a background in Environmental Management and Sustainability Science, and applies this broader approach to sustainability in her work. She has unique insight into the impact of seaweed-based bioplastics, the focus of her 2023 PhD at Aalborg University. Maddalen holds a BSc in Environmental Science from the University of the Basque Country and an MSc in Environmental Management and Sustainability Science from Aalborg University (2018).

Peter manages all company communications and is responsible for the development of content for the web, social media, and press-related activities. He works on building up our platforms as a source of insight on LCA and sustainability in general. Contact him for all press or communication-related inquiries.
Margarida is an experienced LCA specialist, having contributed to diverse projects spanning dairy production, healthcare sector footprints, and palm oil sustainability. She holds an MSc in Environmental Engineering from the University of Porto (2019) and earned her second master’s from Aalborg University in 2024, where her thesis focused on life cycle-based GHG accounting for cities.
Jonas is our lead software programmer and supports our projects in database development and LCA tools with his Python programming skills. Jonas holds a B.Sc. in Data Science and an M.Sc.Eng. in Software Engineering from Aalborg University.
Torben Poulsen is the backbone of our back office functions and is in charge of our book keeping and invoicing.
Mathilde is a versatile LCA Specialist with experience from projects ranging from vegetable oils and biofuels to transport and carbon capture and storage. She holds a BSc in City-, Energy- and Environmental Planning and MSc in Environmental Management and Sustainability Science from Aalborg University. Before joining our Aarhus office she worked at a construction consulting company.

Denise is our responsible for social LCA solutions and for improving our offerings for quantitative sustainability reporting. Before joining 2-0 LCA, Denise supported Brazilian companies as a sustainability consultant, and in the past six years, she has dedicated herself to hybrid LCA research. Denise holds an engineering degree from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo, Brazil, and a PhD in consequential life cycle assessment from Arts et Métiers in France.

Patrick is responsible for guiding new clients to the right solution and working with them on their sustainability journey with us. His job is to ensure that their experience runs as smoothly as possible from initial contact to the finished project. Before joining 2-0 LCA, Patrick worked on supporting ESG reporting and data management in small- and medium-sized Danish companies. Patrick holds a BSc in Building Engineering and an MSc in Indoor Environmental and Energy Engineering from Aalborg University, awarded in 2023.
Elisabeth works with our digital communications, website development and graphical tasks. She holds a MSc in Information Technology.
Tim is an LCA specialist experienced with SimaPro, openLCA and Brightway, delivering impact assessments tailored to the client's needs. With a background as environmental engineer and a M.Sc. in Environmental Sciences from the University of Freiburg, where he gained working experience as a research assistant in the group for Industrial Ecology. He deep dived into modelling LCAs for transport systems at the University of Freiburg and during a 6-month internship at the German research institute ifeu, contributing to consulting projects based on climate impact analysis. His master thesis focused around identifying transformation potentials in the transport sector for the city of Freiburg.
Fan is a data scientist specializing in life cycle assessment and energy-economic system modelling. He is developing a GHG footprint forecast model for the Danish Energy Agency and contributes to EXIOBASE-hybrid and the BONSAI hybrid input-output LCA database. Fan holds a B.Sc. in Automotive Engineering from Wuhan University of Technology and a double M.Sc. in Energy Science and Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology and in Renewable Energy from MINES Paris. He earned his PhD in Industrial Governance from Inha University in 2022, and has postdoctoral research experience in the Life Cycle Sustainability group at Aalborg University.
Kevin supports the development of life cycle assessment methodologies with 2-0 LCA with his strengths in computer science and data architecture. He is a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from CentraleSupelec (France, 2019), and M. Sc. In Machine Learning, Robotics, Computer Vision from the University of Lorraine (France, 2019). Kevin has worked as a software developer, a project manager, or a presales consultant in different tech companies before joining us.
